Divorcees, couples including someone who has previously received a housing subsidy and engaged couples are among the people now likely to benefit from changes to the scheme for waiting families made by the Housing Board.
Changes to the Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme (PPHS), previously only offered to first-time couples, were announced in a statement released by HDB on Wednesday.
The scheme allows couples to rent a subsidised HDB flat from $800 per month.
Under the changes, engaged couples looking to book in advance can do so on the provision that a marriage certificate is produced within three months of moving into the PPHS flat.
Around 800 flats are available under the scheme across four locations; 327 have been taken up so far.
